ODILO MUELLER, PHD
Founder and CEO
Odilo is the founder and president of CYTO Consulting. Odilo started CYTO Consulting in 2014 with the vision to help companies with the successful commercialization of novel technologies. Having first-hand experience with the very successful launch of the world’s first analytical microfluidics platform, he focuses on helping international companies to avoid common mistakes and to maximize their return on investment.
As a global strategist with proven ability in assessing future needs and opportunities, Odilo has helped develop innovations and drive business growth for over 18 years during his leadership roles in leading diagnostic and life science companies such as Agilent, Merck/EMD Millipore, and Danaher/AB SCIEX.
Odilo has a long history and extensive experience in both the research market as well as the clinical and molecular diagnostics market. His in-depth expertise with novel technologies, especially in the genomics and proteomics market, has allowed him to successfully provide consulting services to global Fortune 500 companies as well as international startup companies. Odilo has proven his knowledge of the life science industry with over 15 publications in peer reviewed journals and holds multiple patents.
Odilo received his Ph.D. in Analytical Biochemistry from Northeastern University and a BS in Chemistry from Saarland University in Germany.
PETER-PAUL C. HENZE, PHD, MBA
Peter has had an extensive career in business development and marketing for leading life science manufacturers in the US and Europe. He earned his stripes as the sole field representative in Germany through the building up customer database from scratch, direct visits, intensive lead finding and hunts for new opportunities. Subsequently, he progressed through all organizational stages of commercialization: sales, marketing, product management and business development for product classes as diverse as consumables, capital investment and concepts.
Until recently, Peter served as Scientific Liaison Officer at the German Consulate, Boston, where he served as key point of contact to the local scientific community and facilitated fact finding missions on innovation and entrepreneurship.
Peter received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, an MBA from City University and is a licensed amateur (ham) radio operator.
JAMES CARROLL, BS, MBA
James has more than 10 years of experience in early Life Science company fundraising and investment as Founder and General Partner at Boston Life Science Investments and as Managing Director of Wharton Alumni Angels for Life Science Investments. He also has more than 20 years of experience in executive roles in companies like ExonanoRNA, Bionostics, Biovest International, Squadra Investments, Repligen, Millipore, Waters, Bio- Rad.
He has executed several corporate acquisitions, mergers, and divestitures. At Boston Life Science Investments he advised and connects emerging innovators in life science-related technologies with early-stage capital critical to initial startup for growth and eventual successful deal exits.
James holds advanced business certifications and alumni status from MIT Sloan, Harvard, and Wharton and initially obtained a degree in Organic Chemistry and an MBA from Northeastern University, USA- MA.
CHRIS HEID, MS, MBA
Chris has more than twenty-five years of product marketing, business development, and R&D experience in the life science industry.
Prior to consulting for CYTO Consulting, Mr. Heid was the V.P. of marketing of HumanZyme. Previously, Mr. Heid served as Director of Marketing at Fluidigm. He has also served in senior business development, marketing, and research roles at Agilent, Genentech, and Thermo Fisher.
Chris holds an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, an MS in Cell & Molecular Biology from San Francisco State University, and a BA in Microbiology from UC Santa Barbara.

Business Development Manager
Nahid is a dynamic and results-oriented professional with a proven track record in Client Services and Sales. With more than 20 years of client-facing experience, she excels in building strong, trust-based relationships with clients and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Her sales acumen and deep understanding of market trends enable her to identify new opportunities and consistently achieve revenue targets.
Nahid's customer-centric approach, combined with her exceptional interpersonal skills, ensures that clients receive tailored solutions that exceed their expectations. As a collaborative team player, she thrives in fast-paced environments, adapting quickly to challenges and driving business growth with a passion for excellence.
Nahid holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology and is a certified nutrition consultant. She has more than 15 years of invaluable experience in the Health Science industry, including working at Immune Matrix, an alternative and functional medicine clinic in Silicon Valley.
